  1. Volunteer Celebration

    June 24, 2021, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM @ Confluence Park

The community is invited to a Volunteer Celebration hosted by Kiwanis Club at Confluence Park.

At the celebration, Kiwanis will introduce its new Volunteer Corps, allowing community members of all ages to receive notices of volunteer opportunities throughout the year. No volunteer commitment is needed to register for notices, but those who serve 12 hours or more will receive a Spirit of Issaquah t-shirt and invitations to Kiwanis activities and events.

Come to the Volunteer Celebration to learn more, including what volunteering alongside Kiwanis members might look like. There will be live music by John Rittenhouse and Bob Toomey. Refreshments will be served. Issaquah High Key Club members will entertain children with lawn games, so bring them along.

  2. Cultural Conversations: Celebrating Pride Month

    June 24, 2021, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM @ Virtual

Join us for a community presentation to learn about the meaning and significance of Pride Month to and for those who consider themselves part of some version of the rainbow flag. Mitchell Hunter, Training Manager at GenPride Seattle, is presenting some historical background, context and framework for the shared lives and experiences of LGBTQ+ adults. By affirming the identities of, demonstrating respect for and promoting inclusion of this very diverse community, we can together, find the myriad of ways we are more alike than we are different. Resiliency, strength and courage are the hallmarks of a people who have stood for and with so many others to help usher in a more equitable and inclusive world for all of us.
