1. How do I post bail or a bond?

Bail can be posted at the court or at the Issaquah Jail Facility. Bail can be posted in the form of cash, cashier’s check or money order. To pay a cash bond over the phone by credit or debit card, please call PayGov.US at 866-480-8552. (A convenience fee will apply.) Personal checks will not be accepted. To post a bond, refer to the yellow pages and select a provider of your choice under Bail Bonds

3. How do I find my court date or an inmate’s court date?

Use the Washington Courts search to find out when you need to appear in Issaquah Municipal Court or King County District Court. The search tool returns a case summary and, where applicable, calendar information and a list of case activities (docket).

4. Can I leave money for an inmate?

Yes. Money can be put “on the books” for an inmate. Cash only – no checks or money orders. Contact jail staff in the visiting area to add money to an inmate's account.

Please note: Any money, valuables, or clothing transactions can take up to an hour.

5. Can I bring clothing to an inmate?

No. We will accept items such as white crewneck t-shirts, socks and undergarments sent directly from the manufacturer or online retailer via USPS, UPS or FedEx. We will not accept such items if they are mailed personally. No logos are allowed on any clothing. All clothing must be all-white and in its original packaging.

6. Can I bring books or magazines to an inmate?

No. All books, magazines, newspapers and periodicals must be sent directly from the publisher. We cannot accept hard back books.

7. Can I leave toiletries for an inmate?

No. Inmates can purchase toiletry items and snack food from the Jail commissary if they have money in their inmate account.

8. Can I call an inmate?

No. You cannot call an inmate.

9. Can an inmate call me?

Yes. An inmate can call you. Inmates have access to the phone however, all calls are collect and long distance calls will include all applicable charges.

10. Can I email an inmate?

No. Inmates do not have access to a computer.

11. I have been sentenced by the court to jail time. How do I turn myself in to the jail to begin my sentence?

If you have been sentenced by the court, you should call the jail at 425-837-3265 to make sure there is bed space available. When you report to the jail you need to bring your identification and court commitment paper work. All other items will be supplied to you.

Effective Dec. 1, 2014, you can turn yourself in any day of the week, but only between 7-9 a.m. You can also turn yourself in between 7-9 p.m. Monday through Friday, or 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

It is important that you do not report to serve jail time under the influence of alcohol or non-prescribed drugs, as you will not be admitted and a letter will be sent to the court notifying them that you were under the influence.

12. What is the fee for Outside Agency Court Commitment?

As of Nov. 1, 2020, the fee for Outside Agency Court Commitment will be $180 per day.

13. How much does it cost to stay at the jail if ordered at my own expense?

The cost is $140 per day, payable only in cash, certified bank check or money order.

14. What is PREA?

The Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) is a federal law that prohibits sexual misconduct in correctional settings such as prisons, jails, lockups, juvenile facilities and federal detention facilities. Sexual misconduct under this law includes:

• Inmate-on-inmate sexual assault and abuse
• Staff-on-inmate sexual misconduct (sexual/inappropriate relationships with inmates)
• Inmate-on-inmate and staff-on-inmate sexual harassment

The Issaquah Jail is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for staff and inmates. The jail has zero tolerance for sexual misconduct of any kind and will impose discipline for such misconduct, up to and including dismissal for staff and serious infractions for inmates who victimize other inmates.
Incidents of any and all reported sexual misconduct will also be referred to the Issaquah Police Department for criminal investigation. All complaints will be investigated. The Issaquah Jail and police department policies regarding sexual misconduct apply to all inmates. They also apply to employees, contractors and volunteers.

15. How do inmates report sexual misconduct?

Inmates who are in custody at the Issaquah Jail are urged to report allegations of rape, sexual contact or staff sexual misconduct. There are different ways to report.

Inmates can submit a kite, a grievance, telling a trusted staff member, or by making a free call from inside the jail (available on all phones) to the Issaquah Police Department Tip Line at 425-837-3210, or the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center (KCSARC) at 1-888-99VOICE.

Inmates can also report by asking a family member or friend to call the Issaquah Police Department's main line at 425-837-3200, the Issaquah Police Department Tip Line or the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center.

16. How do I report sexual misconduct?

The Issaquah Police Department investigates all allegations of inmate–on–inmate and staff-on-inmate sexual misconduct. You can report sexual misconduct in multiple ways:

1) If you have information regarding an Issaquah Jail inmate who has been the victim of sexual misconduct while in custody at the jail, please call the Issaquah Police Department's main line at 425-837-3200. An officer will then contact you.

2) Leave a message on the Issaquah Police Department Tip Line at 425-837-3210. Messages are checked daily. Please include the following information:

• The name(s) and locations of persons involved
• The name(s) or description of any witnesses to the incident
• A brief description of the incident(s)
• A brief description of where the event(s) occurred
• The date(s), time and place of occurrence(s)
• Names and contact information of others who might have additional information about the incident
• Your contact phone number and address (optional)

3) Contact the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center online, via the 24 hour Sexual Assault Resource Line at 1-888-998-6423, main office at 425-226-5062 (9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday to Friday), or via TTY at 425-271-6332 (9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday to Friday).
