[ARCHIVED] Traffic Alert: 2nd Avenue Southeast

City crews will be completing accessibility improvements along 2nd Avenue Southeast near Front Street from Aug. 7-Sept. 16. This work is part of the City's Strategic Mobility Projects to improve accessibility, including on sidewalks and curbs.

Detour

Starting Aug. 23, 2nd Ave SE will have one-way, south-bound only travel, from south of SE Jones Ln to Front St S. A detour for those travelling from the south will utilize E Sunset Way. The detour will be in place 24 hours a day. Normal two way traffic is expected to resume on Sept. 16, barring any weather related delays.

This detour plan has been developed with input from the Issaquah School District. As school returns, drivers should expect delays during morning and afternoon school rush hour time frames. Please plan additional time and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Project Details

This project will construct a 10-foot multi-use urban trail connection, connecting Front Street South to the Rainier Trail and West Tiger Mountain Trailheads. Construction also includes crosswalk improvements at the Juniper Trail crossing and the relining of stormwater pipes.

Questions related to the closure can be emailed to Glenn Chouinard, Public Works Project Manager.
