City crews will be completing accessibility improvements along 2nd Avenue Southeast near Front Street from Aug. 7-Sept. 1. This work is part of the City's Strategic Mobility Projects to improve accessibility, including on sidewalks and curbs.
Traffic Impacts
2nd Ave Southeast will have alternating one-way traffic. This will be coordinated with the signal timing on Front Street. Expect temporary delays to westbound 2nd Avenue Southeast traffic.
Work will generally take place Monday-Friday from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Work will also be occurring Aug. 19–20 and Aug. 26–27 (Sat.–Sun.), with the aim to finish early to accommodate the start of school on August 29.
Project Details
This project will construct a 10-foot multi-use urban trail connection, connecting Front Street South to the Rainier Trail and West Tiger Mountain Trailheads. Construction also includes crosswalk improvements at the Juniper Trail crossing and the relining of stormwater pipes.
Questions related to the closure can be emailed to Glenn Chouinard, Public Works Project Manager.
