The Issaquah Police Department has been busily preparing to celebrate National Night Out Against Crime!
Every year on the first Tuesday in August, this year on August 1, the United States and Canada celebrate National Night Out day. Civilians, organizations, and the Metropolitan Police Department join hands to enhance the relationship between neighborhoods and communities. They look at this as a great way to bring everyone together for a positive cause.
This year, NNO will be celebrated on August 1, 2023, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm just outside city hall on the patio area neighboring the park. Please save the date!
Based upon the recent community survey, folks requested more crime prevention information. We listened and this year our NNO event will be focused almost exclusively on crime prevention while having fun! There will be a food truck and ice cream, giveaways, and all our departments and other outside vendors will be coming out to answer questions and discuss home security, how investigations work, best practices for keeping you and your property safe, how the jail and dispatch center work, and more! We will have patrol cars open for all who are interested in checking them out (popular with the kids)! So come on down and say hello before heading over to the City of Issaquah’s Concert on the Green!
Thank you,
Chief Schwan
