City staff are completing a repair project at Salmon Run Nature Park.
Project Details
The Salmon Run Nature Park Bank Stabilization Project will repair an approximately 100 foot section of the side channel within the park that was damaged during high flow storm events in 2020. These storms caused the left side channel bank to erode and damaged a 40 foot section of the park trail along the eroded bank.
The project will stabilize the bank with the placement of large cedar logs and rock backfill and place the damaged trail in a new alignment away from the top of the bank. The repaired area will also be re-planted with native plants and trees.
During construction, park users may notice work crews and trail users may see limited impacts. No road impacts are expected.
Timeline
Construction is expected to begin July 31 and be completed by September with minor plantings to follow in October.
