Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will be fixing potholes and repairing the road between the Preston interchange at Southeast 82nd Street and Highlands Drive in Issaquah. May Closures
May 14-18 Closure
- Date/time: May 14 at 9 p.m. through May 18 at 4 a.m.
- Location: WSDOT will reduce a section of westbound I-90 east of Issaquah to one lane around the clock. The construction will be 1 mile west of the Preston interchange (see map below).
- Purpose: Fix potholes, repair pavement, replace bridge deck
The lane reduction provides a safe work area for the people repairing I-90. These are a continuation of repairs WSDOT began in summer 2022.
May 21-25 Closure
- Date/time: May 21 at 9 p.m. through May 25 at 4 a.m.
- Location: WSDOT will reduce a section of westbound I-90 east of Issaquah to one lane around the clock. The construction will be 1 mile west of the Preston interchange (see map below).
- Purpose: Fix potholes, repair pavement, replace bridge deck
The lane reduction provides a safe work area for the people repairing I-90. These are a continuation of repairs WSDOT began in summer 2022.

Second Set of Closures
WSDOT is planning four additional multi-day closures in the same area of I-90 to support bridge deck repairs. WSDOT has not yet released the dates of these. The I-90 lane reductions are tentatively scheduled for May and June. These will take place westbound just east of Highlands Drive Northeast in Issaquah and eastbound about a mile east of the Preston interchange. You can check their blog for more details.
