Time/Date: All hours

Location: Multiple locations across Issaquah

One theft occurred inside a parking lot of a large commercial business while the other two occurred at various residential locations. The former trend of catalytic converter thefts saw mostly 2001-2021 Toyota Prius vehicles as targets locally, however, none of these cases included Prius vehicles. IPD will be conducting further analysis of these crimes to determine if there is any possibility of predicting targets in order to apprehend the those targeting vehicles here.

NOTE: If possible, try to part in a well-lit area or somewhere with cameras in view, both at home and while out in public. Additionally, if able, consider installing a catalytic converter anti-theft device or have a muffler shop etch your vehicle’s VIN on the converter and spray it with highly visible, high-heat paint. Doing so enables law enforcement to track the converters, which in turn could potentially lead police to the thieves.
