[ARCHIVED] Calling Issaquah's Young Artists, Composers & Authors!

The City of Issaquah, in partnership with the Arts Commission and Sister Cities Commission, is looking for original works from local youths aged 13-18 (age as of Apr. 1, 2023) to send as submissions to the Young Artists and Authors Showcase (YAAS) national competition. YAAS is an annual art contest that encourages youth worldwide to express the mission of Sister Cities International through original artwork, literature, poetry, photography and music.

This is our second year for submissions to YAAS. The 2022 Local Winner was by Mya Mendiola with Celestial Aquatic.

Pieces must be submitted that fit this year's theme Peace by Piece: Food Security in My Community and fall into one of six categories - classic art, digital art, photography, poetry, writing or original music.

Additional details can be found at the link below, including prizes for national winners of up to $1,000.

Entries are due April 2, 2023 by 11:59 p.m. and submitted at issaquahwa.gov/YouthShowcase.
