[ARCHIVED] Issaquah 'Gliders' Competing in Junior Olympics

XCtopnews

Four 'Gliders' runners: Cache T., Cade C., Hope C. and Belle C. are headed to the USA Track & Field (USATF) National Junior Olympic Cross-Country Championship in College Station, Texas this weekend. To qualify for the national championship, each runner had to place in the top 30 of their division in the regional championships that took place in Tacoma in November 2022.

Cheer them on the race is being live streamed on the USATF website on December 10.

Meet the Runners

Cache T., Age 10 – Cache has been an Issaquah Glider for the past 5 years. He takes after his avid running parents, older brother who runs at Issaquah High School, and is a great example for his younger sister who is also a Glider.  He’s excited to compete at Nationals this year and hoping to PR!

Cade C., Age 10 – This is Cade’s first year as a serious runner and first year as an Issaquah Glider. He’s also a Snoqualmie Valley runner during the regular season. He picked it up quickly and has grown a love for the sport. It helps that his mom ran cross-country at Central Washington University, so running is in his blood!

Hope C., Age 10 – Hope discovered running through the Gliders program and has been a participant for the last 4 years! She is the oldest of six sisters who also participate in Gliders! Their favorite race is Issaquah’s Friday Night Lights XC Meet, but really looking forward to this bigger-scale race opportunity in Texas.

Belle C., Age 7 – Belle discovered running through Gliders and has been a participant for the last 4 years! She is the middle of six sisters who all love to compete and run as a family and is so excited to compete at this race in Texas with her older sister!
