[ARCHIVED] Sandbag Recycling Pilot Program

The City is offering a new free pilot program for residents to dispose of sandbags used in the January 2022 flood.

While the City does not collect used sandbags on private property, this pilot program is testing a public drop-off site. This program may be offered in the future, depending on several factors, including the severity of future flooding.

This pilot will run from July 15-August 15, 2022.

Location

235 N.E. Dogwood Street (City of Issaquah property)

Procedure

  • Transport your sandbags to the recycling site
  • Park on the shoulder of the road please do not drive on the grass
  • Empty the sand out of your sandbag/s in the designated location 
  • Place the empty sandbags in the used bag bin

Note: Please do not drop full bags at the site sand will be loaded in bulk and returned to the City’s stockpile for future use.
