[ARCHIVED] Lower Issaquah Creek Restoration Underway

Creek Restoration: Improving Conditions for Salmon

This creek restoration project to construct channels, install log pieces and plants, improving the stream channel for salmon.

Work has begun on restoring 1,200 feet of degraded stream channel along the Issaquah Creek, between the SE 62nd Bridge and SE 60th Street. View the project map for more location details. This project is one of several salmon restoration projects the City will implement in the coming years. It aims to create more spawning and rearing habitat for salmon, improving population levels. The project will construct three side channels and two backwater channels, install 250 log pieces and plant over 45,000 plants and trees. View the project rendering for more details.

Timeline

  • May 2022: Construction begins
  • Dec. 2022: Anticipated construction completion
  • Early 2023: Final plant restoration work completed
