We have met all water quality requirements. Our top priority is simple: Providing Issaquah residents the highest quality water possible.

We are consistently testing to ensure our water quality. Safety is our top priority – and Issaquah meets all standards set for safe drinking water. Resource Efficient Water Management

In 2021, the City worked with Cascade Water Alliance (CWA) on programs to help reduce indoor and outdoor water use for our customers. In addition, the City helps to reduce water leakage with investments in water mains, reservoirs and other infrastructure. Ongoing operational improvements, meter testing, and other programs continue to keep this figure below the state-required 10 percent.

Both the City and CWA provide water efficiency programs and services for water customers in Issaquah and in the region. In 2021, CWA promoted water efficiency and water stewardship resulting in thousands of direct customer interactions representing all CWA members and achieved a savings of an estimated 37,092 gallons of water per day in 2021 or 57% of CWA’s 2019 – 22 Water Use Efficiency (WUE) goal on an annual basis. For more information, go to or call 425-837-3400.

Filtration of PFAS

The City continues to use a filtration system to address polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, detected in some of its well water. Based on the latest science, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has established health advisories on two PFAS, called PFOA and PFOS. Issaquah meets all standards set for safe drinking water, and tests its water monthly for PFAS substances. Once filtered, Issaquah’s well water is below EPA’s advisories.
