As you prepare to fall back with the end of daylight saving time at 2 a.m. Nov. 8, 2021, remember to change the battery in your smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector.
Change Your Clock, Change Your Battery is a national fire-safety program that urges Americans to change smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector batteries when clocks are changed for daylight saving time each fall.
Nationwide, 71 percent of smoke alarms that failed to operate had missing, disconnected or dead batteries, according to the National Fire Protection Association.
