To celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month and the rich tradition of Latinx and Spanish-language literature, the City of Issaquah is bringing together three renowned poets from Latin America, living in our region for a night of poetry on October 8, 7:00 pm
- Dr. Gabriella Gutiérrez y Muhs, poet and professor in Modern Languages and Women and Gender Studies at Seattle University,
- Raul Sanchez, City of Redmond Poet Laureate,
- Rita Sturam Wirkala, Ph. D, Argentine writer residing in Seattle
The poets will offer a combined Spanish and English reading featuring their most recent work and will discuss the experience of being a bilingual poet, the role of Hispanic poetry in United States, and their experiences as immigrants coming from different parts of Latin America. Para celebrar el Mes Nacional de la Herencia Hispana y la rica tradición de la literatura latina en español, la Ciudad de Issaquah está reuniendo a 3 reconocidos poetas latinos del mundo de habla hispana en nuestra Región.
