Looking for events to participate in this Memorial Day weekend?

Local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3436 will host two events to honor those veterans who have fallen.

  • Decorating Veteran Headstones
    • Volunteers are welcome to assist local veterans decorate the headstones of fallen veterans with crosses, Stars of David and flags. Everyone will follow social distancing, and volunteers should bring their own masks and gloves.
  • "Parade" of Cars
    • This year, due to COVID-19, the Memorial Day ceremony will consist of driving through the cemetery to honor those veterans who have fallen. There will be patriotic music and local veterans “Honoring the Fallen Vets” at the cemetery. Small U.S. Flags will be presented to children as cars drive by, using social distancing, which will be strictly adhered to during the “Parade of Cars.
