Starting in May, 2021, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will resume night work on a project to add capacity on Interstate 90, between 150th Avenue Southeast in Bellevue and State Route 900 in Issaquah. They will restripe the existing roadway and create auxiliary lanes. These lanes will be located outside of the existing lanes in both directions of I-90.
Crews will also continue to construct noise walls in strategic locations within the project area to minimize traffic noise effects on local residents.
During the project, crews will perform nighttime construction in both directions of I-90 between 150th Avenue Southeast and SR 900. Work may take place during the overnight hours from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Night work is scheduled to resume in May of 2021 and is expected to continue through the end of the year.
Residents living near the work zone may hear noise from construction equipment and vehicles. Noise sources include, but are not limited to:
- Jack hammers
- Paving machines
- Backhoes
- Air compressors
