[ARCHIVED] Apply Today: Mid-Year Board Recruitments

Due to current and projected vacancies, the City is looking to recruit qualified community members to serve on the Environmental and Transportation Advisory Boards.

Environmental Board

Created in 2020, the objective of the new Environmental Board is to protect, preserve and enhance the natural environment and take action on climate change to reduce its impacts by advising the Mayor, City Council and City departments on the City’s plans, policies, regulations and programs related to environmental stewardship. 

Applicant requirements: 

  • Expertise in any of the following areas: environmental sciences, climate, sustainability, engineering, landscape architecture, education, ecology, environmental stewardship, natural resource management, environmental policy, program management, or other related field; and community members who have an interest in the environment and sustainability as evidenced by training, experience or actions. 
  • Majority of members must reside within city limits. 

Position openings: 

  • 9 regular seats; 3 Alternate seats 

Note: two seats are earmarked for youth/young adults (seeking to fill one position with 15-17 year old, and another position with 15-24 year old) 

Current meeting schedule, unless otherwise noticed: 

  • Virtual/remote format -- until in person meetings are allowed 
  • Regular meeting schedule yet tbd 

Transportation Advisory Board

Created in 2017, the board provides additional expertise and advice on the City's transportation system and goals. 

Applicant requirements: 

  • Knowledge and interest in transportation policy and planning. Membership will be of professionals from transportation disciplines including planning, engineering, transit, nonmotorized, technology, construction, program management, and community members who have an interest in transportation as evidenced by training, experience or actions. 
  • Majority of members must reside within city limits. 

Position openings: 

  • 5 Regular seats; 3 Alternate seats 

Note: one seat is earmarked for a youth member (15-17 year old) 

Current meeting schedule, unless otherwise noticed: 

  • Virtual/remote format -- until in person meetings are allowed 
  • 6 p.m. the fourth Monday of each month
