[ARCHIVED] Proclamation of Emergency: Moratorium on Late Payment Fees

The Mayor issued a Proclamation of Emergency stating landlords or owners shall not require payment of late fees or charges due to delinquent payment of rent during this temporary moratorium.

“We need to be there for people who are losing their wages due to COVID-19 and have been put in a position where they are unable to pay rent. We want you to be able to stay in your home. No one should be at risk of homelessness and nobody should face delinquent charges and late fees during this crisis,” says Mayor Mary Lou Pauly.

This proclamation also states that the Governor’s Order expanding protections for residential tenants in Washington through a statewide moratorium on residential tenants for the next 30 days or as further extended is in the best interest of the people in the City of Issaquah.
