King County is proposing to reduce the speed limit on a 3.2-mile segment of Issaquah Hobart Road SE in the near future. After receiving public comments about congestion and collisions between the Issaquah City Limits (near SE 104th Street) and Mirrormont Boulevard SE, the County decided to conduct a speed limit evaluation to analyze the issue.
On the basis of engineering data obtained and applied to speed limit evaluation criteria including prevailing speeds, number of intersecting streets and driveways, area congestion and collision data, the County determined the speed limit should be reduced from 45 mph to 40 mph.
If approved, the speed reduction is expected to take place by the end of April 2020.
Public comment is being accepted on this speed limit reduction proposal through the end of February 2020. If you have questions or feedback, please contact Community Relations Planner Brent Champaco or at 206-477-9094.
