Every year summer hunger is a
critical issue. Our partners at United Way of King County address this through the Free Summer Meals Program to ensure that free meals are available to kids
18 and under all summer long.
How to find
meal sites:
Families are able to
access their closest meal site by simply putting their zip code in
at this site:
freesummermeals.org or by texting “FOOD” to 877-877. The closest location to Issaquah families is in the
Highlands.
What are
summer meal sites like:
Summer meal sites take
place at parks, apartment complexes, community centers, schools and more
all over King County. These sites often have fun recreational
activities for kids too, which means they can grab a meal and have time to make
crafts, learn a science experiment and hang out with other kids!
The Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank also has a summer food program know as
the Summer Lunch Program. Summer Lunch distribution takes place every Friday from June 28 - August 30, 10 am - 2 pm, inside the Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank.
This will provide a comfortable (and cool!) experience for participating families, while offering a wider variety of healthy produce, dairy, and deli options. You can pick up pre-packed Summer Lunch bags or make your own selections in our store!
