2019 Lodging Tax Advisory Committee
Recruitment for 2019 LTAC membership is underway. Those who
qualify are encouraged to
apply by Noon, Jan. 25. Under state law, the committee's membership consists
of members from businesses that collect the tax, members involved in activities
eligible for lodging tax revenue, and an elected City official, who leads the
committee.
About LTAC
Lodging Tax Advisory Committee was established in 1998. This
committee oversees the City's share of lodging tax. Currently, hotels, motels,
and bed-and-breakfast inns collect the City's one percent share of the tax to
pay all or any part of the cost of tourism promotion, acquisition of
tourism-related facilities or the operation of tourism-related facilities.
The committee consists of five members and terms are
appointed annually.
Next Steps
Following review of applications, the Mayor selects
appointees ensuring membership requirements are met, and that the
committee is diversified and balanced. Council is expected to confirm
the Mayor's appointments in February. Terms become effective immediately,
meetings begin in March and terms expire on Dec. 31, 2019.
