[ARCHIVED] Sister Cities Commission Welcomes Back Artist Hamid El Hadri for Salmon Days

Hamid El Hadri
  • Author, composer, musician, entrepreneur, & sports lover 
  • Born in Chefchaouen, Morocco (Issaquah’s sister city) to an artistic/musical family 
  • Started in theater and performance at age 10 
  • Moved into movies and tv in adulthood 
  • Well known for his famous win on a tv signing contest, Star Academy  
  • As a full time music artist, Hamid represents Morocco all over the world 
  • Creates modern music with a nod to traditional Moroccan tones and rhythms 
  • Enjoys working to conserve nature and climate

The commission's mission is to increase the knowledge, goodwill, and understanding of the world through people-to-people diplomacy, education, cultural exchanges, economic exchanges, and humanitarian assistance. 

Join us during the Salmon Days Festival at the steps of city hall. Hamid will be demonstrating his culture and music with local students and the broader community during the course of the festival.
