[ARCHIVED] You're Invited: Down Home 4th of July and Heritage Day

Celebrate Independence Day with local traditions — Issaquah's Down Home 4th of July and Heritage Day!

Every summer, folks gather for free, old-fashioned fun. The festivities start at 11 a.m. July 4, 2018, in historic Olde Town Issaquah and continue until 2 p.m.

Down Home 4th of July

Hosted by the Greater Issaquah Chamber of Commerce, Down Home 4th of July promises fun for all ages.

Bring the family down and join in some good ol' fashioned fun at the Kids 'n Pets Parade. The annual event kicks off the day at 11 a.m.

Register for the parade online, or drop off your registration form at the Visitors Information Center, 155 N.W. Gilman Blvd. Parade same-day registration starts at 10 a.m. July 4, at the Holt Building, 425 Rainier Blvd. N.

In addition to the parade, enjoy fun games and entertainment, shop great local vendors, and sample fabulous food at Veterans’ Memorial Field, 140 E. Sunset Way.

Heritage Day

Join the Issaquah History Museums for the 16th annual Heritage Day celebration — part of Issaquah’s Down Home 4th of July!

Heritage Day is an opportunity for kids of all ages to get their hands on history. Drawing on common activities from days long past, museum volunteers will help kids make their own butter, use a washboard and wringer to wash clothes, operate a pump car up and down the track, and other activities!

Heritage Day happens in and around the Issaquah Depot Museum, 78 First Ave. N.E.

Want to be part of the action? Volunteer to help with Heritage Day! Email the museums to learn more.
