[ARCHIVED] Update: Olde Town Traffic Calming Pilot Program

Based on resident feedback and data recently collected on site, City staff will be proposing permanent traffic calming measures at the City Council Infrastructure Committee meeting held in Council Chambers at 5:30 p.m. June 21.

At the meeting, you can hear more about what staff is proposing, and have the opportunity to provide feedback on the pilot program, and possible permanent traffic calming measures.

Residents can also expect the temporary chicanes, located on Andrews Street, to be removed in the coming weeks and replaced with a temporary speed hump. Thanks to public feedback, it’s clear the chicanes are the least effective and desired traffic calming device. The speed hump – like the other temporary devices throughout Olde Town – will remain in place until a permanent solution is determined.

At the end of January 2018, a variety of temporary traffic calming devices were installed on Alder, Andrews and Bush streets as part of the City’s Olde Town Traffic Calming Pilot Program
