[ARCHIVED] Traffic Enforcement Emphasis: IPD Launches Traffic Enforcement Pilot Program

The Issaquah Police Department has launched the Expedited Traffic Enforcement Pilot Program as of April 1, 2018. This program emphasizes and increases traffic enforcement within city limits, focusing on driving behaviors that impact traffic flow and local mobility, such as red light violations, distracted driving and pedestrian crosswalk violations.

Enforcement will target major traffic corridors south of Interstate 90: Front Street, Northwest Gilman Boulevard and State Route 900.

Violations will be enforced through a combination of overtime for the Issaquah Police Department and contracted support  from Washington State Patrol.

As part of this pilot program, Issaquah residents and regional commuters are being asked to provide feedback regarding traffic enforcement, traffic flow and driver behavior.

A follow-up survey will be available in late June to help determine this pilot program’s overall effectiveness.
