The Issaquah Highlands and Talus have contracts (called development agreements) with the City that dictate the rules and entitlements associated with each neighborhood for a specific time period. Both agreements are scheduled to end this year.
Issaquah’s goal is to keep the existing character of each urban village, and make land use rules more consistent with the rest of Issaquah. The City is proposing to adopt new regulations and zoning classifications for the Issaquah Highlands and Talus areas that will govern development after the development agreements expire.
The City Council will hold a public hearing
on the proposed rezones and new regulations at 7 p.m. Dec. 4 in Council Chambers, 135 E. Sunset Way.
