[ARCHIVED] - Volunteer Opportunity: MLK Day of Service -

Our community is proud to support Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s vision for tolerance and equity for all.

In line with our recent Tolerance Awareness Day proclamation, we encourage all citizens to be mindful, tolerant and accepting of others every day of the year.

To honor King's legacy of giving back, United Way of King County is hosting its annual MLK Day of Service, which includes several volunteer projects in our community:

To see a full list of MLK Day of Service volunteer opportunities in our region from Jan. 12-16, please visit United Way's website. Register soon; space is limited.

In addition, King County holds its 30th annual MLK Celebration, noon Jan. 12 at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre. The celebration will acknowledge King’s immense impact on both our community and our country.

As a reminder, all City facilities — including City Hall, Issaquah Community Center, Julius Boehm Pool and Issaquah Senior Center — close on Jan. 16 for the holiday.
