Let’s Move Fitness Class

We're all trying to stay active and capable as we get older, and this is the class where we can do it together. All levels are welcome — we work at our own pace, maintaining what we’ve got, and trying to build more endurance, strength, flexibility and balance through functional exercise that includes cardio, toning and stretching.

Some of our activities will be seated, and there will always be the option to perform the whole class in a chair if that is what works best for you. It’s a "build-your-own-class" kind of program, where modification is the key!

Taught by Kristina Gravette, an ACE-certified instructor, at the Community Center. For more information, contact Gravette via email or at 425-391-0404. Fees are paid directly to the instructor. Fee: $6 per class, or $50 for 10 classes

Food Drawing & Doodling

If you love food and art, this workshop at the Community Center is for you! Doodlers will draw fantastic food sketches of fruits and veggies; beverages and desserts. Illustrate your favorite recipe or bring your favorite pot or pan to draw. One part inspiration and one part instruction!

This will not be a usual step-by-step class, but instead an interactive session to encourage the artists to develop their own doodling style and technique using watercolors and pen. No experience required. All supplies included. Fee for four classes: $100 for residents, $120 for nonresidents.

• 9-10:30 a.m. Thursdays from Sept. 8-29

Art and Nature in Water Color

Get back to nature and explore the world around you! Take a closer look and observe small details to find inspiration. Whether it's seashells on the beach, or rocks in your backyard, inspiration is everywhere. Nature will be the subject matter of each class. Learn different watercolor techniques and sketching methods to create beautiful birds, bright flowers, whimsy feathers, seashells and more. No previous art experience required. All supplies are provided. Join the instructor, Priyanka Parmanand, at the Community Center. Fee for four classes: $100 for residents, $120 for nonresidents.

• 9-10:30 a.m. Thursdays from Oct. 6-27
