Drivers: Prepare for a lane closure along Southeast 62nd Street Aug. 6-7, 2015, as crews conduct test borings.
The work is part of a planned extension of 62nd Street from East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast to Lake Drive.
Information from the borings will help determine the design of a stormwater vault included in the project.
The planned road extension will widen 62nd Street between East Lake Sammamish Parkway and 221st Place Southeast. In addition, a new roadway will be constructed between 221st Place and Lake Drive. Two roundabouts will be constructed where 62nd Street intersects 221st Place and Lake Drive.
The project also includes with new sidewalks, bike lanes, curbs and gutters, curb ramps, street lights and storm drainage.
The design and permitting is underway, and construction is expected to start in 2017.
