Timber Ridge at Talus is adding senior-living apartment homes, expanding its onsite health center, and adding new community amenities, including an indoor swimming pool and auditorium.
The project, at Northwest Talus Drive and State Route 900, will add 145 units of senior-living apartments in an 8-story building over two levels of below-grade parking. It is expected to be completed in fall 2016.
Timber Ridge’s 184 Phase 1 apartments are 95 percent occupied. The $154.5 million Phase 2 now under construction is more than 80 percent reserved.
“We all know Issaquah is a great place to live, work, play, learn and visit. Together, these qualities also make Issaquah a great place to retire,” Mayor Fred Butler said. “People of all ages are drawn to our natural beauty, outstanding quality of life, world-class medical care and strong sense of community.”
Timber Ridge, the first senior living community in the nation to be awarded Silver LEED status by the U.S. Green Building Council, features sustainable design elements. Phase 2 is being built along the same environmentally friendly guidelines.
“We will continue to create Timber Ridge from natural materials and resources with environmental guidelines that will ultimately benefit residents and remain sustainable through the lifetime of the community,” said Jill White, marketing and sales director for Timber Ridge.
Built on 10 acres at Talus, a 630-acre urban village, Phase 1 of Timber Ridge opened in 2008.
