Virtual Community Conversation

Join us for a rich and authentic virtual community conversation to learn about current events impacting LBGTQIA+ communities and ways to better ally and support our community. Hear from local professionals and members of the LGBTQIA+ community as we engage in a meaningful dialogue to help us shape a better future where everyone belongs and feels welcomed.

About the Panelists

Brandon Knox (He/Him), Lambert House

Brandon Knox is the Program Director at the Lambert House LGBTQ+ Youth Center, the only social service agency in Seattle and King County dedicated solely to LGBTQ+ youth. The Lambert House LGBTQ+ Youth Center has cared for, championed, and celebrated over 15,000 individual minors and young adults through over 500,000 service contacts. Brandon joined the Lambert House staff full-time in August 2014 and has taken on progressively more responsibility since then. He currently oversees Lambert House's Seattle-based programs, the adult volunteer program, supports youth in-crisis, networks with other community organizations, coordinates community outreach, and assists with fundraising. 

Mitch Hunter (He/Him), GenPride 

Mitchell C Hunter is an activist leader in the Transgender (Trans*)/Nonbinary (NB)/Gender Diverse and LGBQ communities. Serving on Seattle’s LGBT Commission, he jointly created policy leading to Seattle’s all-gender restroom law. Mitch collaborated on the SPD’s model transgender policy and is featured in their mandatory training video. Currently engaged as the Training Manager for GenPride Seattle, he and his team are sharing the resiliency and vibrancy of the LGBTQ+ aging, ”Rainbow Elders”, population with senior centers, senior services in the greater King County area.  

Ray Manahan (He/Him), City of Issaquah Equity Board – Pride Event Host 

Ray currently serves as Director of Strategy at UnitedHealthcare (UHC), the largest health insurance provider in the United States. UHC’s mission is to help people live healthier lives regardless of age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identity. As a member of the City of Issaquah Equity Board since its inception in 2021, Ray understands the importance of engaging and partnering with the residences and business owners throughout the city, to better understand their perceptions and ideas.
