- Victoria Hunt, Councilmember
Councilmember Hunt currently holds Position Number 6 on the City Council.
Victoria Hunt was appointed to the Issaquah City Council in Feb. 2018 and is now serving her second term following election in 2019. Victoria chose Issaquah as the place to raise her family eight years ago. Victoria and her husband Kevin have two children; a 7-year-old daughter attending school in the Issaquah School District, and 4-year-old son.
Before serving on city council, Victoria served on the city’s Planning Policy Commission and was affiliate faculty at the University of Washington in the Urban Design and Planning Department. Victoria has a PhD in ecology and is passionate about conserving Issaquah’s natural setting including our forested hillsides and salmon-bearing streams. She is currently employed as a data scientist working for Breakthrough Energy, leading research on renewable energy development.
Victoria’s vision for Issaquah includes protecting the qualities that make Issaquah special; welcoming community feel, charming downtown with vibrant businesses and our beautiful natural environment.
Victoria represents Issaquah on the Salmon Recovery Council of WRIA8 and the Kokanee ILA Management Committee, as well as on the King Conservation District Advisory Committee and the Regional Water Quality Committee as a representative of the Sound Cities Association.
