Hearing Examiner

The Hearing Examiner is an independent office of the City that conducts hearings required by ordinance. Applications heard by the Hearing Examiner include preliminary plats, final plats, variances and appeals.

The Hearing Examiner is appointed by the Mayor and subject to confirmation by the City Council. The Hearing Examiner is appointed for a term of one year, and can be reappointed for succeeding one-year terms. For more information, see IMC 18.03 and Rules of Procedure (PDF).

Currently, the City of Issaquah is contracting with Sound Law Center for Hearing Examiner services.
