Pedestrian Safety

Overview
With the goal of providing safe, convenient ways for pedestrians and drivers to get around our community, the City of Issaquah recently completed a review of several priority crossings.

Using community feedback, along with other criteria — such as accident history and changing conditions — City staff and a consultant evaluated numerous pedestrian crossings.

Two corridors — East Sunset Way and Newport Way Northwest — were also evaluated for possible enhancements.

Following public outreach and input, a crossing study was released Oct. 23, 2015.

Several projects will enhance pedestrian safety in 2016. In addition, education and enforcement efforts are planned.
