Notice: System Outages
In early June 2016, the current online business licensing systems will be replaced by a new system called My DOR. In preparation for the launch, existing business licensing systems will be taken offline.

Any business that has a location renewal or Secretary of State annual report due by May 31, 2016, should renew online by May 24. From May 25 through June 5, the Department of Revenue will accept only paper applications and renewals.

Who needs a business license?
All businesses operating within City of Issaquah limits are required to obtain a license from the City. A business includes all services and activities engaged in with the object of pecuniary gain, benefit or advantage to the person or another person or class, directly or indirectly. For a complete definition and exemptions, see Issaquah Municipal Code Section 5.02.010.

Obtaining a LicenseCity Limit Boundaries
The City of Issaquah partners with the Washington Department of Revenue to issue business licenses. The City license is added as an endorsement to your state business license.
Courtesy, temporary and solicitor's licenses are issued by the City of Issaquah's Permit Center.

Before applying for a City of Issaquah business license, please verify that you will be conducting business within the City of Issaquah limits. The neighborhoods of Klahanie and Mirrormont are not within the City of Issaquah's jurisdiction. The dotted lines on the map above indicate the city limits. Please contact the Permit Center at 425-837-3100 if you are not sure.
