Make a Difference
Issaquah needs you! Looking for a fun and interesting way to make a difference in your community? Join a city board or commission!

Expired terms and vacancies are advertised in The Issaquah Press and on the city’s website in January of each year.

Occasionally, the City of Issaquah also has openings for boards, commissions or ad hoc committees during the year. Those openings are also advertised in The Issaquah Press and on the city’s website.

Applications are accepted year round. Although the formal recuitment process is held annually each January. Submit application on-line.

Appointments and Reappointments
Appointments are made by the mayor and confirmed by City Council. Terms begin on May 1 of each year. When a term expires and the member would like to continue serving, they must submit an application to request a reappointment.

Important Note
As part of the Moss Adams Organizational Assessment in November 2011, City Boards and Commissions will be reviewed and may be structured and/or consolidated. Any recommended changes will include a transition plan for 2013. Current positions and appointments do not guarantee term duration.
