Stay Safe: Summer Burning Restrictions

In Issaquah and throughout the Eastside Fire & Rescue service area, stay safe and be aware of summer burning restrictions.

All outdoor burning is banned during summer, except in approved pits for recreational fires.

To learn more and get your recreational permit, go to eastsidefire-rescue.org.

Under state law, recreational fires are defined as cooking fires and charcoal barbecues, campfires and bonfires that occur in designated areas or on private property for cooking, pleasure or ceremonial purposes.

Fires lit in chimineas, fire pits, fire bowls and similar free-standing devices — commonly sold at home-improvement stores and mass retailers — fall under this definition. They are allowed in both urban and unincorporated areas.

The fire is limited in size to no greater than 3 feet by 3 feet, and 2 feet in height.
