Public Hearing: Pre-Annexation Zoning of King County Island

Monday, July 17

The Issaquah City Council will hold a public hearing on July 17 to take public testimony on the proposed pre-annexation zoning of the potential annexation of the King County Island (AB 7433). The island is an approximately 32.65-acre unincorporated area within the City limits. A map showing the location of the property and the proposed zoning is provided in Resolution No. 2017-06.

The property is currently zoned as Mineral. The proposed zoning includes a combination of Community Facilities – Open Space, Community Facilities – Facilities, and Intensive Commercial zoning. Definitions of the zoning districts can be found in IMC Chapter 18.06. The proposed City zoning would only apply if, and when, annexation to Issaquah occurs.

Anyone interested may appear at the public hearing and be heard for or against, or provide comments regarding the proposed zoning. A second public hearing will be held on Sept. 5, 2017 after which Council action may be taken.
